HISTORIC GARDEN DEVELOPMENTS
From 2008 to 2011 we are embarking on a unique restoration project on the double herbaceous border – designed by the Chelsea Gold Medallist garden designer George Carter.

In September 2009, a new life size archer statue sundial was unveiled in the Demi Lune area of the gardens. Designed by sculpture Robert Rattray, it was inspired by the following section of the Sir Philip Sidney sonnet.

“Who shoots at the midday sun,
though he be sure he shall never hit the mark;
yet as sure as he is he shall shoot higher
than who aims but at a bush”
